Hello and welcome to the Price of Football, the show that looks at the money. The high

end of a beautiful game with me Kevin Day and then for the University's Kirim Aguayo.

It's Newsday Kirim, we have a lot of stories which unfortunately means we can't discuss

any football stories at the moment, any actual on the pitch stories. So our respective

league positions will have to be left for another pod somewhere around the end of April, hopefully.

Big stories Kirim, I have to say. The first one, Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe,

has expressed his interest in buying the club and I assume Kirim that the world of

businesses are excited if not cock a hook about this.

Well, when the story broke which was at about 5.30 on Tuesday evening, I mentioned it to

the Baroness and she gave me the look. We both know what the look is like along the lines.

I don't know why she gives me that look. Kirim, I've never ridden a life with spreadsheets.

So the world of business was pretty much indifferent. There was hardly any change in the

share price. There was a very short spurt of buying and selling but the price settled

down to where it was before hands. So it looks as if the markets have effectively factored

in what they considered to be a likely sale or price of the club by the glases.

Certainly, there was a lot of media interest. It is an iconic club. It does attract a lot

of headlines. So the newspapers, radio stations, TV, it's fair to say that my WhatsApp was

busy last night and not with my friends from Liverpool saying I could have got tickets

for the Cup game in 10 days. So Jim Rackliffe has expressed an interest via his company in

EOS. Remember, he already owns NICE in France. I think he owns another club elsewhere.

In Europe, he's turned around Team Sky, which is now Team Ineos in terms of cycling.

And he is ridiculously successful, a very smart businessman. So there was that. And then
