back to a fist full of dirt unless you live out here where we're self-quarantined

and then it would be a fist full of mud.

Never seen it.

Never, ever seen it this wet.

You know, it wouldn't be as bad being cooped up

if you could be planting your corn for the deer or whatever. no way you can get on the tractor out here

that's just a crying shame the good point is you know plenty of mornings to go turkey hunting matter

fact I took my youngest daughter who produces this podcast Lauren turkey hunting this

morning how was your turkey hunt I had a great hunt it's just they didn't

participate I think they were social distancing themselves.

It was as quiet as a mouse in church and we didn't, we didn't hear Pete and that's been

the last two or three times for me down here now, Mississippi, it's awful green and it's awful wet it looks like a

rain forest now the temperature has been cool but I quit trying to figure turkeys

out a long time ago of what they do and why they do it.

It just is what it is.

You know, my my idol Colonel Tom Kelly in one of his books and he actually talked to

me about this and I don't remember the year.

It was sometime around the year I was born, 1954, he said he went turkey hunting every day until whenever 30 days, 40 days, something like that and never heard a gobble.
