Chad is well known in the criminal justice community for the incredible works he's done to help other incarcerated individuals to get their freedom. Chad did this all while serving his own sentence. Chad is known as a Jailhouse lawyer. Although he has no formal legal training, he has used his gift for understanding the law to give back.  In February of 2003 Chad was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute 50 grams or more of Cocaine Base. When the case was taken to trial and he was sentenced to serve 40 years in prison. His co-defendants, who committed the same crimes, pled guilty and were sentenced to far less time. In October of 2018 the judge who sentenced Chad wrote a letter to President Trump in favor of his clemency. Finally, last month on June 25th Chad was released from prison on compassionate release. Chad Marks walked out of Federal Prison after serving 17 years. And he spent the vast majority of those 17 years working to free his friends and brothers behind bars.
