And this is the last episode of our series on the runoff between Ferrari and Lamborghini.

0:42.0

It's a rivalry that's been fought over decades with speed, engineering and the most outrageous automobiles ever to roll down a road.

Today we're going to be talking with Jamie Kittman. He is New York Bureau Chief for Automobile Magazine.

Hi, David. We are especially excited to be talking with you this week since we're right there at the beginning of the annual New York International Auto Show.

Anything you're particularly excited about seeing anything you've got a hat tip on or anything?

2:16.0

They want them to span billions making the car the future, but at the same time they want them to earn record profits today.

2:24.0

And I think the mood at most car shows these days is kind of grim because they're sort of trying to focus on their present.

2:32.0

They're sort of trying to focus on the future. They're sort of trying to focus on not getting fired.

2:37.0

And it really permeates so much, but in general the level of optimism, unbridled enthusiasm and the sense that money is being made.

2:48.0

Even if it is, is not as euphoric as it was in the previous 20 years of car shows I've been going to.

2:57.0

Well, I might suggest that there's a reason for that.

2:59.0

We're not really talking about cars that much anymore. At least not for the consumer market. It seems to be more about these sort of downscaled enormous land rover-esque SUVs.

3:09.0

That seems to be what's selling.
