Everybody always talks about tanking at this time of year, and we always say,

listen, the players don't tank, the coaches don't tank, you know, maybe a general manager

to make a decision of like throwing a quarterback out there that, you know, we want to see

this guy and see what he looks like and evaluate him, and maybe that's like the slightest bit

of a tank from a general manager. So back in, it was the 2020 season, or was it the 2020 season where I think, yeah, because it was the 2021 draft that Zach Wilson was drafted, right? Right. So the 2020 season, if you remember, nobody was in the stadiums. Right. So if you went and go, if you went to go play on the road, it was like you're playing in your backyard.

That's right.

Or you're a high school football stadium. So the Jets went out to L.A. to take on the Rams. They were a big underdog. They hadn't won a game yet that year. And they went and beat the Rams on the road. And that was a year that Trevor Lawrence was coming out. and they ended up losing the first overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguards.

The Jaguars that Trevor Lawrence was coming out. And they ended up losing the first overall

pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars took Trevor Lawrence and then Zach Wilson went number

two. And I really did feel at that time that that was a, I mean, not that they should have lost

on purpose, but it was just unfortunate for the Jets to win that game. I don't, I'm not there yet with

Fernando Mendoza and the Jets. Now, I think that there's a good

chance that they don't win a game the rest of the year, but they also are going, and I think

the Giants are going to win a couple games. So they're going to have to worry about Cleveland.

They're going to have to worry about Vegas, maybe even more in particular, than Cleveland.

But if the Jets win one of these games or two or whatever, do you view it as a disaster because they could get Mendoza?

Does Mendoza, really the question is, do you believe that Fernando Mendoza, as we sit here today,

is so important for the Jets to get that they either got to get this number one overall pick

or they've got to package these picks that they have to go and get him because he's the guy

that's going to finally turn this franchise?
