Fernando Mendoza got his first Raiders practices underway as he starts working through the adjustment to NFL football.

I was really looking for the secondary. Trading Stoakes, Dalton Johnson, Jamad McCoy, see if he was even going to participate in Hezekiah Masses. Well, all those guys did participate. McCoy was on a limited basis. I believe that they're going to, you know, treat him with kid gloves at this stage of the game while they're still working through obviously the medicals, but he was out there so uh i got to give him credit for being out there and almost 100% participation the only

guy who didn't participate the day that i was out there which was on saturday was a keeron croffert

the third round pick out of auburn and and he said because he talked to us after the after the practice

session he was one of the four players that was made available to us he had mentioned that he worked really hard on friday so they just

gave him that saturday off but he was out there he was taking mental reps and going from

station to station so we ended up talking after the practice with fernando mendoza trading stukes

trade zune to third and as i mentioned keron croffert so those were the four guys that were made available to us. But I'll tell you, I was looking for the secondary. And what I saw was just, I saw the secondary for sure. I was definitely paying attention to what those guys were bringing to the table. I saw a lot of communication. That was one of the biggest things that stood out to me, was the communication, especially on the defense. It was really loud. And I don't mean this like they were screaming, but you could tell that they were making an extra effort to be able to communicate and what's the call and making sure everyone's on the same page. Now remember, this isn't training camp. This is rookie mini camp. So everyone's still getting their feet wet. Everyone's still trying to figure out exactly what they're supposed to be doing. There's a lot of

coaching and a lot of teaching. But one of the things that stood out to me the most was the communication
