Hi everybody, I've got some news for you.

I have to admit it's not going to be a huge surprise.

The presidential election in November is going to be fought out between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

There you go. I'm telling you that now because it's become that little bit more official.

Each of them have won enough delegates in their primary

nominating contest to become what's known as the presumptive nominee for their

parties and they won't become the official nominee until the conventions in the

summer when all those delegates actually vote for them. the the two old guys who fought the last election going at it together again.

Here's what Donald Trump had to say about it.

Hello everyone. It's your favorite president speaking to you on a really great day of

victory. The Republican National Committee has just

declared us the official nominee and so we're the official nominee of the

Republican Party which is a big deal.

I find it a bit annoying when they keep referring to themselves in the plural, but all candidates

do it, it's not a Trumpism.

And of course they're talking about us in the sense of the broader campaign, but in videos like that, I always think it sounds weird.

Anyway, what I'm basically telling you is that we can set aside presidential politics for this week because the nominations are taking care of and we don't really need to

worry about that general election for a little while. So we can talk about some of the

broader issues that are facing America. It's not all about the race for the White House

after all.

And one of the biggest things that's going on is the fentanyl crisis.
