Today I have a guest who has had a career that has spanned both the civil and criminal justice

system, but he is probably best known for his work as an author and as an expert witness

on false confessions.

College. He graduated with a BA in philosophy, and he graduated from Yale Law School. He is

currently chair of the Justice and Law Studies program at Williams College, where he has taught constitutional

law. Alan has published six books, a dozen scholarly articles in law journals, and more than

20 op-eds and magazine articles on various aspects of the legal system. These articles have

appeared in the LA Times, The Washington Post, Washington Times, and Newsday.

His latest book is called The Duke of Wellington Kidnapped,
