Summary

Edith Bowman and Anna Bogutskaya are joined by Felicity Jones, who talks about her new film, romantic drama The Last Letter from Your Lover, in which she stars alongside Shailene Woodley. Anna reviews drama Profile, in which an undercover journalist infiltrates the online propaganda channels of the so-called Islamic State; Stillwater, which stars Matt Damon as a dad who travels from Oklahoma to France to help his estranged daughter, who is in prison for a murder she claims she didn't commit; Zola, a black comedy film based on a viral Twitter thread, in which Taylour Paige plays the titular stripper who is convinced by her new friend (Riley Keough) to travel to Tampa, Florida, in order to earn money, only to get in over her head; Beasts Clawing At Straws, a crime drama in which a struggling restaurant owner, caring for his sick mother, finds a bag of cash in a sauna locker; and reissue Now, Voyager, which stars Bette Davis as a frumpy spinster who blossoms under therapy and becomes an elegant, independent woman; and Boys From County Hell, about a crew of hardy road workers who must survive the night when they accidentally awaken an ancient Irish vampire. They also talk you through the best and worst films on subscription-free TV next week, and recommend a home entertainment purchase in DVD of the Week. This part I always find slightly strange to start on, because it's the opening of the

0:10.6

podcast, which I kind of just wish they'd sometimes just hit record when we do start

0:15.0

chart, and because our conversation over the last five minutes has been slightly varied.

0:19.2

And I mean, I would say interesting, whether that be my lifelong ambition to be the voice

0:23.5

of something, I think we narrowed that down to the Virgin Train's toilet lady.

0:28.0

It's good to have goals, and I believe in you, Edith.

0:33.4

One of my favorite things about podcasts is actually the one to start with a completely

0:37.5

random sentence or anecdote.

0:40.2

And actually, if this episode of the podcast starts with Edith Bowman, Dreams of Becoming

0:45.0

the Virgin Train's toilet voice lady, I think they'll be a cracking beginning.

0:51.8

And then it's that thing.

0:52.8

So I always like really scared about pronouncing your name.

0:55.8

It's a Scottish thing as well, because we are terrible with any form of like accent.

1:01.4

And if I try, I have that kind of real sort of thing of school where you're doing French

1:05.9

and you would be so embarrassed about trying to put any kind of accent into when you

1:10.6

spoke French, and it's that kind of thing of just being bad at saying people's names.

1:15.6

Then I mentioned the director of the Revenant, whose name I will for eternity be terrified

1:20.9

of saying.

1:21.9

But you literally just like, it just kind of like, it just bleeds

1:25.8

from your mouth beautifully.

1:26.8

To be fair, that's a very complicated turn, because it's both got the N'ya, the N'ya
