| 0:18.9 | On the Brady contract, it's always good to come to an agreement with a player, any player. |
| 0:25.6 | So, you know, that's a good thing. |
| 0:29.2 | And I'm not going to talk about the contract, so we'll move on from that. |
| 0:32.8 | It is what it is. |
| 0:33.7 | That's a good line. |
| 0:35.1 | So whoever said it, it's very pertinent. So like I said, there's a lot of guys |
| 0:39.7 | who have, you know, one year left on their contract, you know, so the situation, I got one year |
| 0:45.1 | to go and we'll see what happens. |
| 0:51.2 | I mean, look, I don't think he's going anywhere. |
| 0:57.9 | But just him saying, we'll see what happens. |
| 1:01.0 | And they also can't franchise him. |
| 1:04.3 | So he and his agent made sure they got the same provision Drew Brees has. |
| 1:05.5 | And a lot of guys negotiate into the last year of their contract |
| 1:07.9 | to preserve their freedom to go somewhere else. |
| 2:02.4 | So note, on the day they gave him $70 million. And really, we should put that, you know, you should clear your throat, put it in air quotes. Again, it's freaking goofy money. It's not real money. It's NFL salary cap money. So, but on the day on paper, the headline says they gave him $70 million. He says, I got one year left. We'll see what happens. And his agent makes sure that they put in there that you can't franchise him, meaning he's a free agent when those years void. That's all a little scary. Again, I don't think he's going anywhere because I don't think it'll ever come to that. But he certainly put himself in position to leave. I'll put a till like that. And leave meaning retire or whatever, do whatever he wants. I mean, again, go to another team, which again, I find that scenario now unlikely. But the fact is... There's nothing they can do about it now. There's nothing the Patriots can do about it. Which is... It's like they're daring them to retire for crying out loud, basically. It's almost like, no not going to give it to you so you decide you play well we'll be fine we don't we won't like |
