Jeff, you let's talk a minute about Stidham, because the Patriots had any number of opportunities during this offseason to make a different kind of move at quarterback.

Cam Newton remains available. Colin Copernick remains available. They had chances in the draft to take someone if they wanted to. Jordan Love was there when the Patriots were picking and they didn't choose to make that decision. James Winston was available for the longest time and they didn't. So what does that tell you and what do you hear about the level of confidence that Bill has in Jared Stidham? Well, Green, I think it says that they have a lot of confidence in Jared Stidham, and it doesn't preclude them from still picking up a quarterback at some point before camp and bringing in another arm at that point in time. But, again, what they've said to you so far is this. We believe in Jared Stidham. And you heard David bring up Matt Castle. I would also bring up

Jimmy Garoppolo in the year where Tom Brady was suspended for four games and the Patriots

went four and O without Tom Brady that year. And so they are used to this sort of thing. And I think

they relished that sort of challenge, the fact that Tom won't be there. It will be a different

offense. It will be a different atmosphere. It will be a complete different feeling with one guy who's been so important to that franchise for 20 years. It's a whole new chapter. I think that they love this. I think that there's a part of them that looks forward to this. And yeah, they're not tanking. And yeah, I think they have big expectations

for Jared Stidham. And we'll see whether or not they're valid, right? At a time where, again,

I keep coming back to the economics and the business of sport, where after this year, the cap may be

flat or potentially go down due to the pandemic. Look at the Patriots sitting there paying a rookie quarterback in Jared Stidham and

Brian Hoyer, a veteran on a veteran minimum type of contract.

They've got no money invested basically in the quarterback position.

And they'll have flexibility after this year if it doesn't go well to do what they want

at that point in time.
