Evan Longoria went from the Tampa Bay race to the San Francisco Giants for a package of

players.

There was one veteran who went back in the deal, I think. Dernard Span went San Francisco Giants. For a package of players, there was one veteran who went back in the deal. I think Dynard Span went from the Giants to the raise, but that was a money offset, at least in part, for the Giants. Span has like, I don't know, $9 million or something, so they had to take him on. Okay? But other than that, they sent up two or three prospects. McCone, could you get it for me exactly who the prospects were and how many?

To the raise for Longoria, who has five years and $86 million remaining on his contract.

Okay, so again, five years and $86 million for Longoria,

given the numbers that are being thrown around for J.D. Martinez, Eric Hosmer, that were on the Mike Stanton deal, those are some big numbers, comparatively speaking, and

the Longoria deal is pretty affordable.

Basically, what is that?

$17 million a year and change?

I mean, for a guy like that, he's a good player.

Now, I think Longoria last year only had 20 home runs or something of the like, so I'm not sure he's a true slugger, but he's a good hitter and he's a clutch hitter on top of it. So you tell me should I be pissed off at this? No, I don't think he should be pissed

Only because I don't think that the raise would have dealt him to another team in the American League East. And I also don't think that the Red Sox really had any assets to give up in terms of their farm system, which has been gutted by Dave Dombrowski. And the pieces that they do have, a younger player is like Jackie Bradley Jr., they seemingly don't want to give up through their precious J.B.J. and his stolen bases in defense. So, how mad can you get? In a bigger picture, if you want to be upset, that it's another big move made in the MLB offseason. The Red Sox have still done nothing other than sign Mitch Morland. Yeah, then I can understand some anger. But with this particular move, Evan Longoria, I don't think he would have came here anyway. Okay, so again, based on the reason. So you never know what Tampa Bay is ultimately going to do. And maybe they wouldn't have traded in the division. Again, there's no way to know that for sure. But so far this offseason, Giancarlo Stanton has been dealt. Didn't feel like the Red Sox were ever really in it.

Marcel Ozuna was traded to the Cardinals from the Marlins.

Didn't feel like the Red Sox are really in on that one.

Nalongoria's going to the Giants.

And it doesn't feel like the Red Sox weren't on that one either.
