Chefty, as you know, Twitter always wins, and someone said, wow, that Jared Stiddle must have been awful on those Zoom meetings, as if that was the reason, because nobody's been playing or working out or practicing. So you would have to think that Cam Newton would be the favorite going into camp. As you said, former MVP over Stiddon to start in New England, but week one.

31 years old, too, Steve. Just turned 31 last month, usually a time when quarterbacks are entering the primes of their career.

But I do think in typical Patriots fashion, they'll have what they call a quarterback

competition.

But to me, if Cam Newton picks up this offense quickly, and it's

going to be challenging because he's stepping in late in the game, hasn't worked with this

verbiage, doesn't know this offense just yet. There will be a lot to learn. But if he can do

that, there's no reason that he shouldn't win the starting job over Jared Stidham. I do think,

like I said, the Patriots are never won to just award

starting jobs and say, this is our guy. And I don't think we'll hear Bill Belichick say, we have

found a new starting quarterback in New England. But I think everybody knows what Cam is capable of.

And if he plays to those capabilities and picks up the offense, you would think he'd be the guy

in New England. I think that Brian Hoyer is a guy that the Patriots like and respected.

I think they still are high on Jared Stidham.
