for another violation of the substance abuse policy. So I thought that Belichick was genuine in his response when asked about Gordon in this whole situation. I know he was peppered with a few more questions, Jones, but he didn't get much out of him. I don't know if anyone was expecting anything more there. But I thought he was genuine in terms of sympathy and that kind of thing. But I don't know. Were you expecting a little bit more? Were you disappointed in his response or anything like that? I wasn't really disappointed in Bill, but, and I know this is always, this is always treacherous to go down this, this, uh, avenue, big Jim, because, oh, why don't you come down here and ask the questions then, Jones, huh? Why don't you come down here? To which I say, one, I don't really want to.

Hey, I'll acknowledge that. And two, not my job. Not my job to go down there. Not my job to go do your job for you. Bless you for that. Because any time I hear the same, any of those type of things, especially on Twitter too. Go down there. No. not my job. Not my job.

And lots of beat writers like to complain about what we do on the radio.

2:34.1

So guess what? We get to complain about how you do your job down there. I like a lot of the guys down there. But what I had an issue with today is that when Bill very clearly says there are statements put out on Josh Gordon. There are statements put out. It's personal. I'm not going to elaborate on that. And he said that right in his opening remarks. He got in front of it like Josh Gordon tried to get in front of things yesterday by controlling the message, which Bill is excellent at. Hey, guys, we put out a statement. Gordon put out a statement. The leagues put out a statement. I don't really have much more to add on that.

2:50.9

I highly doubt he was going to answer the question. Maybe why, if you're browbeaten down there, there's no point in asking it. I'm surprised there weren't any questions. And I poured through the transcript. I double checked because when I listened to it live, it was hard to hear a lot of the questions. So I wasn't sure if I missed something. He wasn't really asked about revisiting the process of adding Gordon in the first place.

2:55.6

You know, looking back, was it, was it worth it? And maybe you don't word it that way to Bill,

3:00.7

but, you know, do you have regrets about it? Was it worth the risk? How much risk did you assess in the first play? Going back to the initial addition of Josh Gordon, to me, might have been an avenue where even if Bill didn't answer it, the truth bleeds through a little bit. And I thought that would have been valuable. And I know beatwriters don't like to hear how to do their jobs. That's fine. I guess I could go down there. I really don't want to. I'm not planning on going down there. And again, I know a lot of them like to complain about how we do our jobs on the radio. So I feel like we're allowed to do it down there too. That's what jumped out to me. And that's my issue with the press conference today. I'm sure Bill wouldn't answer the questions, but sometimes in the way he handles the answers,
