Maybe a different question, probably the better question, what's his salary going to be? He still got two years left, making about $14 million. This was the only question that I kind of discussed after the Super Bowl last year, Andrew, was is Tom Brady going to get a new contract? At this point, it is still unresolved. And my understanding is, yes, that is something that he wants before next season.

And that's sort of the lead development that we've been talking about with the Brady story,

and that is, does he also want a new contract?

Also, Mike Garfellow of the NFL Network. Late in the day yesterday, we're reporting or saying these things that a contract's on the table for Brady. I mean, in terms of something that he wants. Is this a quote-unquote holdout? No. Is it going to keep him from reporting? No. But does he want a new deal? Yeah, apparently so. And you've read this as well in other places, like in the Jeff Howe piece in the athletic when he interviewed Kraft last week. There was a line in there that said Tom Brady has not yet approached a team about a new contract, but what would be amenable if the team approached him. And so two things here. here one is do you believe it do you believe

approached or seriously addressed for an extension last summer?

Yeah, he was agitated by it.

So it's still there on some level.

I think it's a factor because it's one of the things that Bill was denying him in the past.

If you read Bardard and you read the Wickersham story, Tom Brady was talking to Robert Kraft about playing longer and an extension early last year.

And when those conversations got to Bill Belichick, they didn't go so great.

In fact, Wickersham reported it led to a little blow-up in a meeting between Brady and Belichick.

So you read that.

Kraft was willing to go forward with Brady, give him a contract. Belichick was resisting, which makes perfect sense because Belichick wanted to go forward with Jimmy Garapolo.

So when Brady had his list of grievances with the team, it started with the fact that Jimmy Garoppolo was still here. It included the fact that they kicked his trainer off the team, and he wasn't

getting a new contract. And so now Brady's gone to war for those things. He won on Garapolo.

He got the owner to step in on Garapolo. He's gone. Now he needs a trainer, and he wants a new

contract. And to me, I know this sounds stupid, but the contract really isn't about the money.
