Scary Stories for Kids

Where it's always the spooky season, full of chills, thrills,

and spine-tingling spooks.

Micro-terrorers are family-friendly frights for those ages eight and up.

And while our stories are for younger years, we are still talking about things that go bump in the night,

and some children may not be able to handle what others can.

Parental consent is recommended. Now, for tonight's micro-terror.

Feed Them Up by Fiona Cosgrove, narrated by Darren Marler.

It's mid-morning on a cloudless day.

The sun is balmy as it warms the water beneath the pier.

The river, filled with children splashing and playing, carries laughter across the glassy

ripples to their families, picnicking on the banks.

Two boys sit, perched on the end of the rickety wooden slats.

Next to them their fishing poles lay, line and hooks dry.

The duo consists of lean torsos, skinny necks and long thin limbs that look more like

spaghetti than legs as they dangle off the edge and

skim the top of the water.

The only discerning difference between the two boys is that one has blonde hair and the

other brown.

"'So what?' the blonde one asks.

"'We just feed them?'
