Hey there and welcome back to the Social Sayant Society.

My name is Jessica and as always I'm joined by my

favorite person, Tara. Hey everybody. Today we are starting or kicking off our newest

nostalgic walk-down memory lane series and we will be discussing the Hunger Games franchise

and I'm very, very excited to do this because it's something I have

loved for a long time and haven't really talked about it much with Tara. I know, same. And it's

been so long since I've read the book that it just felt like brand new all over again almost.

So I'm ready. I'm so excited. I love that for you. I have tabs in

my book. We're good. I'm excited. If you listen to our Twilight recap or nostalgia recap, it's going to be

very kind of similar to that, but we're going to be talking all things, Hunger Games and theories

and just kind of like,

you know, what's a little different than the book and the movie and what kind of this like

whole dystopian universe that's out there. So if you don't know, The Hunger Games is a trilogy,

but has now since kind of the trilogy ended, there's two books that have been added as prequels.

One is the story of Cornelius Snow. He is the president of Pan Am and the other one is Hamich.

And we will be doing all of them. We're going to be doing all five books on this walk down memory lane.

So buckle up. It's going to be all things Pan Am and Pan Am related.

First and foremost, I think we should probably discuss where Pan Am came from. And this is something I found out years ago. And it blew my mind. And then I said it to Tara. And then she just like blankly stared. I mean, she's like, oh my God, that's so obvious. But like, I never thought-mm. So Pan Am actually stands for post-apocalyptic North American.

That is where Pan Am comes from.

And it's set in the continental United States and Canada.

But I want you to think about, like, you know how in California when we were kids, how they told us all, like, eventually

people of Tamea County would have beachfront property. Yes. That's kind of what happened.
