Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky is a presidential historian. Her book is called The Cabinet.

It was on November the 26th, 1791, that George Washington convened his cabinet department

secretaries, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Henry Knox, and Edmund Randolph,

and this was the first cabinet meeting. We'll ask Dr. Trevinsky why George Washington waited

a full two and a half years into his presidency to call his first cabinet meeting.
