Good morning, everyone. I'm Chief Playbook correspondent Eugene Daniels. It is Thursday, February 6th.

Here is what's driving the day. Since early yesterday afternoon, Senate Democrats have embarked on a marathon session to protest Russell votes impending confirmation as head of the Office of Management and Budget.

Right now, that final vote looks like it will happen a bit after 7 p.m. today.

But in the meantime, they'll invade against the nomination of vote, who they see as one of the architects of the Project 2025 agenda,

that brings this reckoned ball that we've all watched to many long-time governmental programs and democratic policy priorities.

So they're up in arms about this, obviously.

Even as Elon Musk hovers up a lot of attention in D.C. right now, more of that in a second. We'll get to it, I swear.

It's vote, who is seen as the more surgical insider able to

kind of work within the government, work within the bureaucracy to advance the conservative

policy agenda. But what the two men share is a desire to remake and drastically shrink

the administrative state and federal bureaucracy. And even as vote is likely to be confirmed tonight in a party line vote,

Musk's sites are set on the coming deadline at midnight for federal employees to take

the buyout offer to them at the behest of Musk's so-called Department of Government

Efficiency.
