Hi friends, I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth. The friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Each month we get to read all four books. So go ahead, subscribe today. Now, normally, y'all know we read three chapters a day to get through the whole four books

in 30 days. But this month is a little different. We are mixing it up and reading the Gospels

chronologically from the new international version or the NIV. So we read stories in the order in which they took place, usually getting something from all four books.

So I'll share the references with you here at the beginning, and you can find them in the show notes as well.

You can listen or read along in your own Bible, and then I'll pray, and that's it.

John, chapter 1, 35 through 51, John chapters 2 and 3, John chapter 4 1 through 45, and Luke 3 19 through 20.

The first disciples from John.

The next day, John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw

Jesus passing by, he said, look, the Lamb of God. When the two disciples heard him say this,

they followed Jesus. Jesus saw them following and asked, what do you want? They said,

rabbi, which means teacher. Where are you saying? Come, he replied, and you will see.

So they went and saw where he was staying and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the

afternoon. Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and

who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell

him, we have found the Messiah that is the Christ, and he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,

You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas, which when translated as Peter.

The next day, Jesus decided to leave for Galilee, finding Philip, he said to him,

follow me. Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathaniel and

told him, we have found the one Moses wrote about in the law and about whom the prophets also wrote.

Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. Nazareth, can anything good come from there?
