Well, after all that big talk about walloping Liz Cheney over her impeachment vote, the only woman in GOP leadership got her swagger back.

She came out of a fiery five-hour conference meeting unscathed yesterday,

despite Trump loyalist vow to punish her for daring to vote her conscience and impeach the ex-president.

Things might still be awkward for Cheney in the Capitol halls, considering 61 of her colleagues

voted by secret ballot for a resolution calling on her to step down. Today, House Dems are

pushing ahead with a floor vote to strip Q&on conspiracy theorist turned GOP rep, Marjorie Taylor

Green of her committee assignments. And if you're trying to figure out the direction of the GOP

after that circus of a meeting yesterday, good luck to you. In the same night they voted to protect Cheney from

Trump cronies, many Republicans gave a literal standing ovation degree after she disavowed

some of her previous beliefs. She told a story about a dark point in her life when she apparently

turned to QAnon, according to a person in the room. She said that was a mistake, walked back

suggestions that 9-11 and school

shootings were a hoax and apologized for how her past statements were affecting them all.

We're told other Republicans who may have been inclined to vote with Dems to remove Green today

are now reconsidering, despite Green still not publicly apologizing or apologizing to Democrats

for the dangerous conspiracy theories she's peddled.

While the GOP was meeting yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi sent around a press release that referred to her GOP counterpart as McCarthy, Party Q, of California.

The GOP, after last night, will have to get used to this.

And tonight, bring on the Red Bull.
