Hey listeners, it's Gavriel here with an update about some things that have been going on.

As some of you may know last weekend, Sadie's father died quite suddenly and unexpectedly.

This has been a horrible shock to her and her whole family, and obviously she is quite distraught.

They had a close relationship, and so she has taken this quite hard.

She's gone back home to Alabama for the next few weeks to be with her family and to help make

arrangements for her father's funeral, and there are added legal complications to planning

the funeral since he died while

on vacation in a foreign country. Planning a funeral for a loved one is never easy to do. And this being

compounded is adding another level of pain to an already painful situation. I was fortunate enough to meet David Carpenter last May,

and I found him to be a kind man with an amazing sense of humor. He was also an inexhaustible

fountain of information for us about the IFB, about fundamentalism, about theology, history, really a great source for our show.

He's going to be quite dearly missed. As far as the show goes, I can't tell you exactly when

we will be back with new episodes, but we are hoping for the 14th or the 21st of March,

depending on how long she's going to stay in Alabama.

Sadie told me that in difficult times, she prefers to stay busy, so we will hopefully be back

before too long. If you want to help her and her family and you are the praying type of person. Prayers for the family of

David Carpenter, his wife Angela, and his children, Sadie, David, and William are all appreciated.

If you are not the praying type of person, you know, a kind word, something like that is also going to
