off this week by telling you what Donald Trump is talking to members of Congress about. He's saying

he wants to vote on gun legislation this week. He's very keenly aware of the public discussion

about gun control. Of course, he's not going to aware of the public discussion about gun control.

The House is in just for one day, and the Senate hasn't even touched gloves yet.

But the lawmakers we have spoken to say the presidency is moving with urgency they have not seen in his presidency.

He wants to move quickly.

a new background check system, the Fix Nix Act, a bill that would penalize government agencies for not reporting information to the national instant criminal background check system.

One interesting proposal that's quietly being considered is giving cops the ability to confiscate

a gun for 21 days if there are reports of domestic abuse, mental health issues, or threats.

The 21-day period could be renewed twice under a plan that's being discussed. Of course,

all of this is in its infancy, but Trump is pushing hard behind the scenes. Meanwhile, NBC News got an

interview with Ivanka Trump who was traveling in South Korea for the Olympic closing ceremonies.

She told them that she doesn't know if arming teachers would make children safer, but that it's something that needs to be discussed.

The drama surrounding Scott Israel, the sheriff at Broward County, is not dissipating.
