where Republican Mark Harris ran against Democrat Dan McCready in November.

Laura Baron Lopez reports that it is unclear whether Harris will run again.

He's got health problems, and GOP strategist told her his campaign may have a hard time fundraising.

There are several other Republicans eyeing the seat.

But here's our question.

This is an R plus eight seat.

How much money will the two parties spend to win a seat that has absolutely no bearing on the control of power in Washington? Will outside groups get involved? Once one gets in, they all do, and this could become a multimillion dollar endeavor.

The Des Moines Register has a story sure to be on the radar of Republicans. Steve King

said in an interview Thursday, he has nothing to apologize for and plans to run for re-election.

Governors from across the country are headed to Washington for the National Governors Association's

winter meeting. Alex Eisenstadt reports that Maryland's Republican governor, Larry Hogan,

plans to go to New Hampshire this spring as he weighs a 2020 challenge to President Donald Trump.

He also accused the RNC of going to extraordinary lengths to shield the president from a primary challenge.

The LA Times is reporting that the next leader of the California Republican Party needs to raise money and quickly

as they try to recover from a brutal midterm. Mark Caputo has the latest on the 2020 DNC convention

drama with Florida Democrats knocking the Wisconsin governor for having a quote unquote

hisy fit. On the 2020 front, Holly Otterbine and Natasha Karecki report that Bernie Sanders has the

early edge on Elizabeth Warren in the battle for the far left, while Gabby Orr writes that Vice
