Good Friday morning. I'm Anna Palmer and welcome to your Politico Playbook audio briefing.

Impeachment, the acquittal of Donald Trump, and the durability of Bernie Sanders as a presidential candidate has scrambled the battle for control of Congress.

0:20.1

And both Republicans and

0:21.5

Democrats are working behind the scenes to gauge the impact as they gear up for a pricey race for

0:27.1

control of the House of Representatives. The tumultuous political climate has given new hope to Republicans,

52% said they believe Trump should have been acquitted. If nothing else, the Trump era has

1:40.2

1:47.0

among the candidates for permanent replacement for Director of National Intelligence.

1:52.0

Of course, Collins is running against Senator Kelly LaFleur in Georgia,

1:56.5

and Republican leadership would like to stop that intra-party fight.
