As I record this the day before February 1st, in South Texas, where the sun is out, the high 78, we can hear spring peepers, the frogs croaking in the background,

butterflies and honeybees are coming out.

Oh, I don't take a moment of this for granted.

And I don't because, only because I grew up in New England and New Hampshire.

Shout out to all my Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut listeners. I love you guys. That is my homeland where I was raised from about seven, eight years old until I moved away at 24. So it is definitely a special place in my heart. But those winters, man, are they long and tough? And I will never forget

come like March and April where you're just hanging by a thread. You're like, please, sunshine,

warmth. So I often think about that, metaphorically speaking. And had I not gone through dark, dark, cold, long,

winters, I wouldn't have this massive joy and gratitude for these short Texas winters and these

spring-like days in February. How can you not apply that theory to everything in life? If you're going through a difficult

moment, a dark night of the soul, if it's lasted years, what about when it all changes and life

gets good and you're going through a summer season in your life? You're going to appreciate

every single second.
