I don't know if you saw this in the news from yesterday. It's hard to take, and I can't get into details about this. There's just no way.

But there were 21 men who are believers in Jesus who lost their lives because of it yesterday. They're from Egypt.

It happened in Libya. It was because of ISIS. And I don't want to get into the tales of that.

But I do want to remind us of something, and that is, this kind of thing's been going on for a long

time. Like, it's suddenly in the news now. CNN had it as a lead story. Christians targeted,

this has been going on for years in the Middle East and across the Arab world, that people

who are believers are suffering.

In some places like Iraq,

uh, hundreds of thousands of Christians.

They're gone.

They've lost their lives or they've had to move out and flee.

This is the case that all across North Africa.

All this to say, we're supposed to suffer with our brothers and sisters like we're suffering.

That's what the Bible tells us to do. And this is not new

in the history of being Jesus followers either, that people have had to deal with this. So if nothing

else, this points out to us our need to pray for those families, the people affected, and also the

number of people are in prison, or continue to be

refugees, continue to be running, have lost loved ones. These are supposed to be our family,
