Hi, friends. I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

We will read three chapters a day and finish in 30 days, most months. Every month we're going to read all four books.

But because it's February and there's only 28 days, we're going to have to read a little bit extra on a couple of days.

So go ahead and subscribe today. Join us as we read the Gospels together. This is a great day to invite your friends to join us because we're starting a new book.

And today we begin, Mark, then we'll do Luke, then John.

Okay, you ready? Let me share with you how this is going to go. I will read three chapters to you today.

You can listen or read along in your own Bible. And then I'll pray and that's it.

So today is February 10th, day 10. And I'll be reading Mark chapters one through three and the translation I am reading from this month is the ESV.

Mark 1, the beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

As it is written in Isaiah, the prophet, behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way.

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

John appeared baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

And all the country of Judea and all Jerusalem were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

Now, John was clothed with camel's hair and wore a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey.

And he preached saying, after me, it comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I'm not worthy to stoop down and untie.
