Good morning, everyone. I'm Chief Playbook correspondent Eugene Daniels. It is Monday,

February 10th, less than 24 hours after the Philadelphia Eagles took down Kansas City for the Super Bowl.

Here is what's driving the day.

Ahead of the Super Bowl last night, Fox News aired part of a pre-recorded interview with

President Donald Trump. During the conversation, Trump reaffirmed his support for Elon Musk's work

with the so-called Department of Government Efficiency. Trump told Fox News anchor Brett Baer that he trusts Musk and said that the Tesla and SpaceX

CEO, quote, isn't gaining anything, unquote, from the work.

Trump said that Musk's next task will be looking into the Department of Education and the military.

Meanwhile, on his way to the big game, President Trump unveiled that he plans to announce new 25% tariffs on all imports of steel and aluminum today.

He didn't specify when the duties will begin, but just the mention of them is sure to affect the markets today, especially as American manufacturing responds to the news.

But the biggest story of the day involves the Senate, which appears poised to confirm two of President

Trump's more controversial nominees later this week. That would be Tulsi Gabbard as director

of national intelligence and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human

Services. And that's a huge story because of these nominees' views and for what the pending

confirmations tell us about the Senate at this moment and time. Here to chat with me more about
