Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. We scooped a few weeks back that House Democrats were thinking about bringing earmarks back.

Now we've got some new details on how they are planning to do it in an infrastructure

package. Number two, we haven't heard from the Capitol Police Force since the January 6th insurrection.

Today, that will change. And number three, Cancun's Ted Cruz is getting some message help.

All right, Jake, we have been following the return of earmarks

extremely closely because it kind of changes the way business gets done. But you guys

caught up with a key member and there's a development here. It's not just going to be some of the

spending bills, but now it looks like Democrats are potentially going to be doing earmarks in an

infrastructure package.

Yeah, that's right. Peter DeFazio, the chairman of the Transportation Infrastructure Committee,

told us yesterday that he's going to do earmarks in a large-scale highway and infrastructure package

this spring. That's big news, as you noted, because it changes the way business gets done.

And the infrastructure bill, the highway bill, is a big, it's fertile ground for earmarking

because projects go in there.

And, you know, it's just members of Congress are going to want to get their projects in there

and they're going to want to get their local bridges and roads and highways and all sorts of
