Coming up on Sword in Scale Daily, an Iowa economics professor was charged with the kidnapping and murder of her husband after allegedly restraining him and leaving him tied and gagged for hours.

Authorities in Tennessee asked for the public's assistance and assert for missing toddler 16 month old Evelyn Boswell.

Finally, a Washington man on a family vacation in Hawaii was arrested on suspicion of the murder of his wife whom he reported missing on Tuesday night.

The Des Moines Register reports that on Wednesday, Dr. Gauhan Park, an economics professor at Simpson College in Iowa, was arrested in charge with first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping in connection with the death of her husband, Song Wu Nam.

According to KCCI News 8 Des Moines, Park called 911 at approximately 6.45 pm on Saturday and said she'd found her husband unresponsive.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found Park and Nam in the residence's home office.

Police said they found Park performing CPR on her husband, but the criminal complaint states that when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found Nam lying face down.

His lips were blue and he had no vital signs.

When questioned by investigators, Park reportedly confessed that she was responsible for the death.

Investigators believe that between 10 and 11 on Saturday morning, Park tied her husband's hands and feet with zip ties.

She then used rope to lash into a chair, stuffed an item of clothing into his mouth so he could not yell and duct taped his mouth shut.

Finally, she duct taped the towel over Nam's head to blindfold him.

Park also admitted that around 5.50 in the afternoon, Nam communicated that he was in distress and wanted to be untied, but she did not release him.

His death resulted from his restraint.

The complaint goes on to say that following Nam's death, Park took steps to hide the crime.

She took off all the ligatures and hid them before she called 911 and pretended she'd found Nam unresponsive.

On Sunday, she emailed her students to cancel classes for the week for, quote, personal reasons.

Dr. Park had worked at Simpson College since 2017 and had previously taught courses at NYU and Hunter College.

In all three institutions, she was a popular professor, described as attentive and dedicated to her students.

The Des Moines Register interviewed Thomas Musick, an economics major at Simpson College, who had Park as his academic advisor and took five classes with Park.
