But in this, we wanted to give you a featured clip prior to the interview, the long-form interview that

time on Thursday, because this was particularly interesting. And it is Al Michaels discussing

why Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin, is a can't miss broadcasting prospect should he

enter sports broadcasting after coaching. So Al Michaels on Mike Tomlin coming up on the sports media podcast.

In a meeting with Mike, and this goes all the way back to when he took the job in 2007. He's very interesting.

And what he will do, especially in recent years, we'll go in there and, you know, there's

a dance that you do in these meetings and, you know, who's not going to play, et cetera, et cetera.

Mike will come in and he will give you the answers to all of the questions you have without you asking those questions.

So it's really, it's very efficient for us because he'll know what we want to know.

And Mike, you know, Mike will take the mic for maybe four or five, six minutes, whatever it takes,

to bring us up to speed with all of the things that he

knows we need to know. The other thing about Mike, he is so facile of tongue. He is, I mean,

he's unbelievably well read. I always said, and I've said this on the air, if I had a debate team,

I would make him my captain.

And I love the way he takes what would be a cliche and turns it into something special.

Because for all of these years, if, you know, you have two or three running backs and they're sharing time, everybody would call it running back by committee.

No.

Mike called it distribution of labor which is just such a beautiful way to describe the same thing without using a cliche and the
