Welcome to our Rosary podcast. I am in Arse, France, the home of St. John Vigna. We just celebrated Mass with the Cardinal of Leon in the Church in which the

So this rosary comes literally from the heart of St. John Vieni.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for.

Now, St. John Vieni will not mind me saying this, but he was a blockhead. But so am I.

St. John Vieni was born into a peasant family in the small town near Lyon, France, called Dardley in 1786.

His family was poor in material possessions, but rich in humanity and in faith.

He spent so many years of his childhood and as a teenager in the fields tending the flocks that at the age of 17 he was still illiterate.

He desperately wanted to be a priest but soon after he entered the seminary they asked him to leave

mid-semester because he couldn't keep up with the academic work. But at that point

God intervened and an old pastor took him in and personally prepared him and finally he was ordained when he was 29 years old.

But before long, thousands of people came from all over France to hear his wisdom and were converted.

It was not by virtue of his own human gifts

that he succeeded in moving people's hearts.

He won over even the most rebellious souls by sharing with him, with them what he himself

lived deeply, namely, friendship with Jesus Christ.

Now we all have family and friends that we wish're closer to Jesus.

But St John Fieni shows us that you don't have to be a theologian.

We just need to develop a deep friendship with Jesus in prayer,

and then God will make great use of us for the good of our family and friends.
