Or am I trying to please man?

If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Wow, what a statement.

Paul says, I'm a servant of Jesus, which means I am free from living for what other people think about me.

I'm free from living for the approval of others.

Not that we don't care for others, want to serve others, to love others selflessly, but this is such good news. If you're a follower of Jesus, you are free from living for the applause of man, from a life that goes up and down based on what others think about you, up and down, based on your reputation.

Your identity is serving Jesus, period.

And your eyes are fixed on him, and what he sees, what he knows about you,

which is oftentimes such a small part of what others see or know about you.

Even for the most public figures, they only are known or seen in such a small proportion

to who they are. Jesus sees it all. He knows it, and he loves you, despite all that he sees,

and despite all that he knows, he loves you. So live free as a servant of his, which I know it doesn't make sense, but this is what

the whole book of Galatians in part is about, that we are free to be servants of Jesus.

That we are not slaves to sin anymore.

We're not slaves to ourselves.

We are free to experience life that God has designed us to live through Jesus' love for us,

which means we're free from seeking the approval of others.

When we have the approval of God in Jesus, and we can live out of the overflow of that today. Oh, God, I pray this

over my life. I pray this over every single one of our lives. We pray, God, please help us to live

with the freedom you have given us as servants of Jesus.
