Fear or love? With which lens do you most frequently choose to view the world fear or love with so much negativity

and violence and brokenness in the world it's common to grasp onto and utilize the perspective

of fear to view our world fear of others fear of the unknown fear of tomorrow fear of life however fear of the unknown, fear of tomorrow, fear of life. However, one of my favorite

quotes on the power of our perspective today determining what happens tomorrow was written by

Pedro Orupe. Arupe gave his entire life to be in service of others, although his life was seldom easy

and was often extraordinarily difficult, more than three decades after his death,

and more than four decades after he lost the ability to speak due to a stroke.

The words he wrote, the words I'm about about to share with you,

they still matter. So here it is. One of my favorite quotes from Pedro Arrupe,

what you are in love with. What seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will get you

out of bed in the morning. It will determine what you do with your

evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart,

and what amazes you with joy and with gratitude. Fall in love. Stay in love. And it will decide everything. I love that quote. I love that poem. I love

that thought and the truth behind it. I agree wholeheartedly with its premise, but now I want you

to hear again that quote, supplanting the word love with the word fear.

Frequently, these are what our dear political friends on both sides of the aisle are trying to do to you as well.

This is probably what the neighbor on the other side of the fence is yelling at you right now, about your yard, about your life, about your car, about whatever's going on.
