Sometimes God connects things that we would never put together.

In God's infinite wisdom, there are certain things that are inseparably linked.

You cannot separate them.

You cannot separate repentance and faith. They're connected. You cannot separate the sovereignty of our God with the responsibility of man. They're connected. And today we come to

another one of those inseparable truths in the principle of fear and faith. I would never think

that fear and faith would go together, but they do.

They do in God's economy, because when you fear God, you learn that he is the only one who can

be trusted. When you truly fear the Lord, you learn to faith the Lord. We come today to Habakkuk

Chapter 3 and verse number 16.

An interesting verse, a couched in a passage of scripture, just almost neglected, I think,

because the verses that follow it are so well known.

But I want to concentrate on this one verse today, and I want to show you fear and faith in

Habakkuk's heart and its application to us. The prophet wrote, when I heard my belly trembled,

my lips quivered at the voice, rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself that I might rest in the day of trouble.

When he cometh up under the people, he will invade them with his troops.

And remember, Habakkuk is living on the eve of the Babylonian captivity.
