I am pleased to introduce our speaker, Cheryl J. Scarborough, a partner with Simpson Thatcher and Bartlett, LLP.

By way of background, Cheryl formally held the role of associate director in the SEC's Division of Enforcement and was the first chief of the SEC's FCPA unit.

In her current role, Cheryl represents corporations, financial institutions, and individuals in SEC and other regulatory enforcement proceedings,

conducting internal investigations,

and counseling clients on FCPA compliance programs, SEC reporting, disclosure, and corporate

governance requirements. Cheryl has received numerous recognitions, including status as a leading

individual in FCPA by Chambers USA nationwide and Chambers Global. Also, one of the 25 most influential women

in securities law and one of the top 10 women in litigation, just to name a few. For today's session,

Cheryl will provide an overview of key bribery and corruption enforcement activity in 2021,

as well as lessons learned from the year's most notable FCPA activity.
