Hey, it's John. We are in this between time, post-capitalism. I mean post-season seven, our series on capitalism.

You've listened to all of it, right? Including the later episodes where we explore real-world alternatives to capitalism as we know it in places like the Bay Area and Basque country.

We've started work towards season eight, and while we do that, I thought I'd share with you all

a mini-series. A few of my favorite things. I got to confess, I don't listen to a huge number of

podcasts. I just don't listen to a huge number of podcasts.

I just don't really have time.

But of the shows I've managed to hear in the last couple years,

these stood out for me as podcasts that are not only very good,

but also a fit for the scene on radio feed.

If you like our show, there's a good chance you'll get something

out of these two. They're documentary-ish, multi-part series, historically informed, they bump up

against questions of social justice, and they're well-made, a good listen. They're not necessarily

obscure, you may have heard heard them or some of them,

but given the gazillions of things on offer out there, there's a fair chance you haven't.

So first up, from the excellent slow burn podcast, Becoming Justice Thomas. It's a five-part series exploring just that, how Clarence Thomas, a poor black kid from a

tiny town near Savannah, Georgia, became Clarence Thomas.
