Summary

In this episode we’re talking about our favorite TV and movie sets that are pop culture, and somehow they influence the decisions we make for purchasing. Certain trends that bubble up, whether it be for the home or fashion, or for the way somebody tucks their shirt in, or flips their hair, or whatever else, we are all influenced in some way. There’s an undercurrent going on, sometimes it’s stronger than others, and depending on where we are in the world, we see certain things bubble up that are maybe unnaturally trending because of pop culture, which is so influential. We want to talk about where things come from and have a lot of movies we want to discuss and the things that have come from there and influenced a lot of our clientele. I feel like it represents the movie really well because it just sets this very mysterious, very gloomy looking feeling. It just sets the vibe.” “You don’t know who to trust in Knives Out.” “Yeah, ornate finish work, an old person who’s lived a full life, collected a lot of things, tons of books, some art work, and taxidermy. You can almost smell the house from just looking at it.” 31:06https://www.instagram.com/alicelaneinteriors/https://www.instagram.com/alicelanehome/https://alicelanehome.com/https://www.facebook.com/AliceLaneHomehttps://www.pinterest.com/alicelanehome/https://www.youtube.com/alicelanehomecollectionsaltlakecityNews Letter:https://manage.kmail-lists.com/subscriptions/subscribe?a=HZENWY&g=PFcqV5

We all get influenced some way. There's an undercurrent going on. Sometimes it's stronger than others. You know, like when the world was watching friends, I felt like everybody was watching friends because there wasn't as many shows to choose from back then.

1:01.0

Now there's so many shows to choose from that all of us are influenced by different things and feels like more of a melting pot.

1:08.0

But just depending on where we are in the world, we see certain things bubble up that are maybe unnaturally trending because of pop culture.

1:17.0

It's just so influential. So yeah, we kind of want to talk about where things come from. We have a lot of movies queued up to talk about and trends that we've seen come from there.

1:26.0

Things that have been influential to a lot of our clientele that say they want something like this movie set or like this character's life, even though it was all.

1:35.0

You know, perceived or it's a stage that built it's not a real home, but I think we're all influenced in one way or another.

1:43.0

1:53.0

We're going to go into some of those movies, but again, just a lot of different like famous movies that were often with their set designs.

1:59.0

I think, I don't know if I know that Jess, you and I have done this, we're watching a series, we're probably binging at night or something and we like pause it.

2:07.0

We're like, oh, go back. I want to look at that panel and then I screenshot or like recorded and I forward it to you.

2:12.0

And so we really are just like watching not only the characters, but just how important their environment is to that character development.

2:21.0

And so environments are just it just goes to show that's the, I think a really good study of a good, good character building.

2:29.0
