And ultimately the pair agreed a cordial Faye-fined friendship was in both their best interests.

Across town, Lou came clean to Cassie about everything that had gone down in Jada's weird

dreamscape.

Cassie assured Lou that the situation hadn't changed her feelings and the lovers formalized their relationship status.

Everyone came back together the next morning to meet with the Sarina's chosen emissary,

who turned out to be none other than Ravain Varus, one of the Empire's seven ruling dukes.
