Hey folks, welcome back to another episode of Venture Maidens.

Before we dive in, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you for your

patience during our end-of-year podcast hosting hiatus.

For those of you who aren't aware, 2023 was a wild year for everyone in the TTRPG industry.

Everything changed back in January of 2023

when Wizards of the Coast threatened to poll the public D&D license that allowed third-party companies like

Kobold Press, the place I work full-time, to exist, and while Wizards eventually backtracked

some of their decision, game designers like me went into serious overdrive to finish development of new games that would allow our companies to survive,

our fans to keep playing our content, and secure the future of keeping this fantasy game we love

forever and eternally in the hands of the public.

For me personally that meant a multi-year plan to develop Kobold Press' new game, Tails the Valiant, suddenly became a one-year. a a game system, running online play tests, and in-person convention play tests for thousands

of people.

It has been a wild and exciting endeavor, but also the hardest year of my entire life.

I am so happy to report that development of

Tales of the Valiant is finished and it will be available to the public in

spring of 2024. In fact you will definitely be hearing more about it as we incorporate elements of it into this very podcast.

This also means my life, including my work on Venture Maidens, can blessedly return to some degree of normalcy and you can expect us to return to posting routinely,

delivering more Patreon rewards and all kinds of goodness.
