We have been cranking out episodes here the last few days.

We're kind of getting ahead.

Advent season is coming, and I think it's good for us to be recording. But, you know, it comes to the banter at the beginning, and things are a little thin when you're doing this every other day. That's true, but we don't have to do the banter today. We don't because we have a special guest with us, and we're very grateful. This is an exciting episode for us. So Dominic Polito, welcome to the podcast. Thanks. Good to have you with us. Many of you know the name Andrea Polito from many episodes where we've only spoken of her great and beautiful qualities and we would never ever throw under the bus or anything like that. This is Andrea's oldest brother, five in the Polito family, correct, three girls, two boys. Yep. Dominic is the oldest son of Paul and Hill and Plito who are celebrating 50 years of marriage on December 7th. 15th. 15th, okay, you're looking at me like, I'm glad you knew that. Well, yeah, hopefully I got it right. All right, yeah.

I'm sure I'll hear about it if I'm wrong.

Polito family, longtime friends of ours, and Dominic is the author of a book, Fothering Sons, which is going to be our central topic today. And we're going to kind of give him the floor. we're just going to ask some questions because this is just an awesome opportunity for us to learn from him and to share this really wonderful book that came out.

But before we do that, I just want to cover.

Dominic, you've had quite the weekend here in Denver.

So where have you been?

What have you been doing since you got here?

Let's see. We did a marriage talk at OLV on Friday. We did a all-day legatus retreat on Saturday.

And then yesterday was Our Lady of Lords. We talked about initiation. i met with a men's group this morning at six

and now i'm here with you guys and you're up late last night with uh our friend kasy van pelt

oh nice yeah we hadn't had dinner so we went out to illegal pete's and uh had a good session

with van pelt's just warming up at about 11 o'clock at night. You got out of there alive.

We're lucky that Illegal Pete's closed because he's like a diesel engine. Like he's a slow build. And then once that thing starts rolling, it's next thing you know, it's 3 o'clock in the morning. Oh, really? What's your connection with OLV? The Welps. Okay. Jacob and Meg Welp. Friends from college? Jerry. Yeah, we went to Stumville together. Nice. And he's connected with Legatus.
