Welcome back. I'm John Eldridge. We have been doing a series on the masculine journey that

cover the stages that every man must go through in the story of his life.

With me is Craig McConnell, Morgan Snyder, Bart Hanson, helping to unpack and to share our personal stories about what this

looks like in a man's journey.

Several years ago, our family had a incredible trip, summer vacation for a couple weeks to Alaska.

And the highlight of the trip for me was we were sea kayaking off Chichagov Island and we pulled over to have

lunch and we were with a guide and he said hey you want to see something neat.

There's a meadow not far from here through the woods where

grizzlies sometimes come and graze and we said whoa we love to see that so we

kind of hike quietly through the woods and we got to the meadow and there were no bears.

It was the middle of the day and it was too hot, but he said, I want to show you something and he took us to this

trail. It was these deep imprints in the bog and the marsh, the moss, and kind of the bracken and ground cover,

these deep imprints that were about three feet apart and went all the way across the bock and he says this is a marked

Trail this trail has probably been used for hundreds of years maybe as long as the bears have been on this island

and he says, the elder bears show the younger bears how to cross this area by walking in their

footsteps.

And I was speechless by it. I was stunned, captured by it. I tried to take

some photos of it. They didn't quite capture the power of this place, I thought that's what we need is men.

We need a marked trail.

We need a sure path covered by men before us.

And so over this series, for the last five installments,

we have been covering the stages of the masculine journey.
