It's great to be here.

Well, we're going to have a conversation that goes through your very, very interesting career.

But I thought I would start out by sharing this story about you from the

John McCain campaign, because before you were a Catholic priest, you were a very, very able

and skilled political staffer. And as it came to be, it was August of 2008, and Sarah Palin became the Republican nominee for

Vice President of the United States.

And as things would play out, you and I wound up in Sedona, Arizona, where I had to take over her debate prep.

And this was in 2008, and a lot of people probably today don't realize that 2008, we were still using video tape, right?

It was the pre-digital era.

So we recorded this debate prep.

And it was horrific beyond any measure of my ability to explain in the English English language,

a spectacle of incoherence of the highest level.

And I said to you, I called you aside, and I said,

take that tape, destroy that tape, pull that tape out, cut that tape to pieces,
