Hey everybody Rob, now we're here and today we're going to be talking about the news

that has captured most of the headlines around Tesla today, most of yesterday as well.

And that is unfortunately a fatal accident involving a Tesla vehicle.

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration is now investigating the accident, so we'll

go through the details on that.

We also have Tesla's Q1 Safety Report, an update from Ron Baron, some news out of Germany,

and some other stories as well.

Tesla stock on the day to day did dip quite a bit this morning as I think news of this accident

did spread, but ended up finishing the day down 3.4% to 714$63, so it did recover a bit

after that dip, and that compared to the NASDAQ down 1%, it wouldn't really be all that

unusual for Tesla to finish down 3.5% or so in a down 1% macro environment.

Alright, we'll start off with the accident here, so Saturday night in Texas there was a

fatal car accident involving a Tesla vehicle, a 2019 Model S, in a cul-de-sac in Texas where

the vehicle went off the road, hit a tree, at some point a fire was ignited, and two people

were found deceased in the vehicle.

So first and foremost, regardless of the circumstances, always sad to have to cover events like this,

to have to analyze such a devastating event for those friends and family members of those

involved.

But unfortunately, the media has run away with this story before we have the full details,

so we can have to analyze for ourselves.

So as I'm sure most people have heard by now, the reason this is getting more attention

than a typical Tesla crash, which already gets more attention than a typical automotive
