The Fed's semi-frequent check-in on regional economies is telling two very different stories on

how we are adjusting to the trade war.

On one hand, the Beige book highlighting a retail chain in New York that raised prices on furniture

but is now considering the, reversing the price hike because consumers just aren't buying it.

Meantime, in Cleveland manufacturers are feeling the pain kind of overtime pay rather than laying off workers.

But things are looking up in Philadelphia and Minneapolis.

Both cities reporting an uptick in manufacturing activities.

So this is sort of like a choose your own adventure book,
