One of the few design chiefs in Silicon Valley

if the only one that's somewhat of a household name.

No doubt about it.

I mean, I think what's really interesting to think back to,

obviously Steve Jobs passing in 2011.

I think a lot of people were focused on what Johnny Ives' position

was going to be going forward under the Tim Cook regime and at the time I would have said

this announcement somewhere around then 11 12 13 would have been really impactful I

think what's really important remember from Walter Ises's book you know he was

portrayed as kind of Steve Jobs's book, he was portrayed as Steve Jobs's soulmate.

He was the guy who put their ideas into Steve Jobs pushing him through to make them products.

Now we're at a point where their products are less revolutionary and more evolutionary and what Gene Munster just said

this is a transition. I know this is a big part of Tim's Bowl case into a kind of a service-driven model,

less about every year some really slickly designed new hardware device.

So you know at the end of the day five years ago the stock might have been down 5% on this sort of news.

I think you're going to see a sort of muted reaction to it.

Yeah well you're seeing it only down you know around 1% which I guess is kind of

surprising.
