| 0:00.0 | Dress, the history of fashion, is a production of iHeartMedia. |
| 0:22.7 | With over 7 billion people in the world, we all have one thing in common. |
| 0:26.5 | Every day, we all get dressed. |
| 0:28.4 | Welcome to Dress, the history of fashion, a podcast that explores the who, what, |
| 0:32.4 | when, of why we wear. We are fashion historians and your hosts, Cassidy Zachary, |
| 0:37.6 | and April Callihan. Cass, today, I am thrilled that we get to talk about one of my favorite |
| 0:44.0 | things in Dress history. And that is the intersection of fashion and extreme politics or extreme |
| 0:50.9 | political events. And in particular, some of my interests lie in how fashion reacts during |

| 1:45.6 | really discover the field of fashion history as an academic pursuit. But indeed, the seed and |
| 1:51.4 | interest in the connection between fashion and politics had already been planted years prior. |
| 1:56.6 | Yeah, and dress listeners, we've already done a two-part episode on fashion during the French |
| 2:01.1 | Revolution. So head all the way back to season one, I believe, to check those out if you haven't |
| 2:06.0 | already. We've also talked about the intersections of fashion during World War One. And I think we |
| 2:11.7 | did a many-sode last season on fashion and politics. So these two seemingly opposite entities |
