0:00.0 | Hey, clutter bugs. Welcome back to the clutter bug podcast. I'm very excited about today's guest because you've heard me talk about her over and over and over again, and she is such an inspiration to me because I genuinely have no idea how she does it all. |
0:20.0 | So I am thrilled to find out the secret to her success. Today we have Lisa Bass from Farmhouse on Boone. Okay, Lisa. |
0:34.0 | Thank you for being here. Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited to come on. |
0:39.0 | This you are okay. You are incredible. You are a homesteader. You have a wildly popular podcast and YouTube channel and a blog that's insane. I mean, if you want a sourdough recipe, you are the guru. You are where people go. |
0:57.0 | But so much more than that, too, making from scratch, your social media is incredible. And I know from doing this, that's a full time job in itself, like running social media, doing YouTube videos, doing all that you do is an insane amount of work and you do it exceptionally well. |
1:17.0 | And you are a homesteader and have a button of children. |
1:24.0 | That's right. |
1:27.0 | What to do. So okay. So here's what I think I made a sourdough starter Lisa. And I was making bread from scratch that no, I know you're probably used to it, but I'm going to just tell you the truth. It's a crap ton of work. |
1:42.0 | And I think of you often any time I'm making a big meal, you make everything from scratch. I think how now, how are you doing this? And I know congratulations. You're expecting again. Yes. |
2:01.0 | I guess. Okay. Before you jump in and tell us your secret. Maybe there's not a secret. Maybe it's hard work. God, I hope it isn't hard work. |
2:10.0 | Please don't say that. Tell us a little bit about yourself. |
2:16.0 | Okay. So in a lot of ways, I feel like a regular mom. I don't know, like, I don't feel like I deserve half of the stuff you were just saying. |
2:25.0 | I, so before we get into like how that all happens, I, like you said, I have a blog called farm awesome boon.com. And that's where I share recipes. I have my YouTube channel. It really ties together. I share more of like a lifestyle way of showing all of that stuff. So whenever I'm making recipes for the blog, I video it and kind of string it together and like, uh, this is what I'm baking this week or this is what I'm, you know, cooking or doing on the home said. |
2:52.0 | And I have seven children. We are expecting our eighth child this summer. So in like four months. |
2:59.0 | And, uh, yeah, we live on a little homestay. We have like 35 chickens and a couple dairy cows, but not much beyond that. We don't have like we're not but your own animals or anything will do gardening this summer. |
3:12.0 | So, um, that's pretty much my life and not chill and then I run a podcast called the simple farmhouse life podcast. |
3:21.0 | Yeah, which she says it like this is all nothing. Okay. |
3:26.0 | Doing a blog and a YouTube channel is a full time job and a podcast podcast is is adding on top of that. |
3:32.0 | But you are you milking cows, Lisa. |
3:36.0 | I literally just milked a cow. I was like, I have like five more minutes to milk. I have to get on with cast here. I think 10 minutes. |
3:44.0 | I told before I left the house. I was, because we're an hour earlier and we were out later last night. So I was like, going up your sister, have her set up my podcast. |
3:52.0 | I want to finish playing the cat. So my daughter knows how to like like this room isn't dedicated for podcasts. So like it gets set up every time. It's not a big deal. Like we just have like the things that have to come out here. |
