Here in the United States, we have this pesky little habit.

We tend to think that when we dutifully put our trash bags on the curb

or when we drop our donation bags at wherever we're leaving them, we tend to think that number one the stuff is no longer our problem and

number two especially the case in donations we tend to think that we're

helping somebody else by passing our discards along.

We also tend to believe, because we want to believe it, that whomever is downstream, whoever's getting our stuff, is going to treat it right.
